Creating a piece that evokes emotion, tells a story and also doesn’t show anything at all is a process.
I never ever know when I’m going to be done.
I keep adding and removing, sculpting and editing until the painting moves me and there’s nothing else to add.
I come back to the painting and feel what it needs.
I can see it through my peripheral vision.
I finally completed these two paintings, which can be hung as a set or hung separately.
My intention in these pieces was to evoke serenity, peace, love with a deep sense of Yiddishe nachas.
