The story of Purim pulls at my heartstrings. Always. The intensity of our fate on the line, the emotion...and imaging myself being there. Then to have the turnout: “Layehudim Haysa Ora Vsimcha Vsason Vikar“ It’s chill inducing! When I started this painting, it was random strokes and color, and it looked so pretty. I stood back and asked myself “what do you see “? Then as I sat, I saw Mordichai dancing with the men and then I saw Esther dancing with the ladies. I brought them out and then slowly slowly I saw more and added more , until I saw it all and this painting was created. I left the negative space white, since it offered so much light to the painting and I felt the message was appropriate - At the end, there was light! It’s a reminder that even in the depths of the unknown, uncomfortable or scary, there can be a happy ending. With belief, strength and a lot of prayer. There is light. There is always light.

When we feel we want to give up, normally that’s the point when if we just go one step further, it all comes together. G-d just really wants us, He wants to hear us, and when we can’t anymore, He kicks in. It’s all in our HOPE and prayer. I remember once sleep training my baby and it was murderous (obviously) I gave myself a few cries and then I went into his room to sooth him. One night he cried and I didn’t go, but I wanted to so badly! I stood by his door and was thinking - just cry one more time. If you cry, I’ll come in and hug you! It was literally at that moment that I realized how we have to cry to Hashem. He is right there on the other side of the door, waiting for us, so badly. So don’t give up hope, just pray. HOPE IS A SILVER LINING.

24 X 36 Oil on Canvas - FRAMED.
A rich velvet canopy in front of the hills of Yerushalayim, in the freshness of air, with loved ones surrounding, in the stillness of it all ...it's my dream laid onto the canvas. The dress was inspired by my wedding dress.
